How to Build a Wax Injector

For those of you wanting to build your own, here is how I build mine. 

The parts:

Crock Pot: Original brand, 7 inches diameter, $14.00 at Target or Walmart and available in black or red. 

Aluminum Tube: 3 inches long x 1 1/2 inch ID and 2 inches OD. I had the aluminum tube cut by Industrial Metal Supply. Cost - Anywhere from $10 - $20.00.

Grease Container: Made of aluminum, available at Walmart for about $7 - $8 bucks.

Stainless Steel Bolts: Available at most hardware stores for about .50 cents each. 2 1/2 inch x 1/4 inch.

Stainless Steel Nuts: Available at most hardware stores for about .20 cents each. Fits 1/4 inch bolts above.

Meat Flavor Injector: Made of shiny metal, available at Target for about $17.00.

Injection Wax: I prefer the Joe's Pink which is at Rio Grande for about $21.50 for 5 lbs.

Meat Thermometer: Can be purchased in most housewares departments for about $8.00.
